UpToDate: How to Create an Account

Important: When using the mobile app, every 90 days UpToDate needs to verify you are affiliated with NMU. 
Please see directions at the bottom of this section.

 

  1. Access UpToDate using NMU Olson Library link  
     
  2. The Online Resources Login screen appears:



     
  3. Click Regular Login button in the top section.  
     
  4. When Library Web Services login screen appears, enter your NMU username & password:



     
  5. The Register for an account screen appears:  

























     
  6. Please complete all of the fields including creating username and password, and verify password. When finished, click on the Send Verification Code button. You will have 10 minutes to retrieve the code from your email & enter it into the box as prompted.  
     
  7. After completing registration, login with this username & password to access your account in UpToDate. The system keeps track of your search History, Most viewed content, & Bookmarks.   
     
  8. If you plan on using UpToDate on your phone/mobile device, click on this Mobile Access link which includes the UpToDate app
    or at the bottom of the screen.
     
  9. Important: When using the mobile app, every 90 days UpToDate needs to verify you are affiliated with NMU. Ten days before your mobile access expires, you will receive a message on your phone / mobile device stating:


    Your remote and mobile app access to UpToDate will expire in 10 days.

    To maintain uninterrupted access to UpToDate, confirm your affiliation with your institution by logging in to UpToDate from a computer connected to your organization's network

    To confirm your affiliation, using a laptop/desktop (not your phone/tablet), click here to login to NMU's subscription to UpToDate

    (Note that it may take a couple of days for the countdown message to disappear.)
     
  10. If you encounter problems logging into UpToDate, or unable to access at all, please contact Professor Mike Strahan (nursing librarian) using one of the methods in the box on the left of these directions.
